AFTA: The upcoming challenges to the Malaysian automotive industry
PERODUA
The establishment of Perodua to undertake the second national car project is an extension of the Prime Minister's vision for the nation to emerge as a major automobile manufacturer, capable of competing in the global market. Through proper planning and focus, Perodua has provided the Malaysian population with the opportunity of owning compact, affordable and reliable vehicles whose standard and quality are second to none. Their domestic market share since establishment in 1994 was about 25percent. They have come up with four models in this period. They are KANCIL, RUSA, KEMBARA and KENARI.
